The Hochfügen and Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach Skiing Areas were connected several years ago by a lift-link, creating the largest skiing area of the Zillertal valley. The Hochfügen ski region, accessibile from Kaltenbach and from the hotel village of Hochfügen, is one of the 10 most snow sure skiing areas in the alpine area and one of Europe's best freeriding areas.
The Hochfügen Ski Region offers perfect conditions for ambitious skiers and those who simply love the pleasure of skiing. Along the 88 km of well-groomed slopes there is also the "Zwergerl Club", a kindergarten at the Hochzillertal mountain station.
Really popular are nighttime skiing, the huge area for beginners, and the Betterpark Hochzillertal with natural halfpipe, Chill Out Area and own lift facility. Furthermore there are events such as the ski show "Fire meets Snow", and highlights including Cat-Skiing (skiing in the early morning hours with ascent to the summit in a snow cat) and a Pistenbully Tour.
