Silvretta Arena ski region - Paznauntal

The skiing area of Ischgl is a real paradise for winter athletes, even extends to Switzerland.

Over and over again, this ski region has been ranked among the top ten skiing areas (also in 2019, on the 6th place by the German winter sports portal “Skigebiete-Test”, which has tested 250 skiing areas worldwide). Numerous are the reasons to spend your winter holidays in Ischgl. The Silvretta Arena, which unites the Ischgl skiing area in North Tyrol and the Swiss Samnaun area, is not only snow sure, but also offers perfect conditions for skiing, as snowmaking equipment is rated among the best worldwide. By the way: Did you know that the Silvretta Arena has repeatedly been honoured for its efforts to keep the environment healthy and intact?

Ischgl boasts 224 km of ski slopes, 15 km of ski routes and 45 state-of-the-art lift facilities. One of the longest slopes of Austria is the 11 km long Route Eleven from Mt. Greitspitz to the town centre of Ischgl, the steepest run is the black slope no. 14a with a 70% gradient. On the Idalp pasture at 2,300 m a.s.l., however, where every year the famous “Top of the Mountain” concerts with stars such as Elton John are held, there’s the beginners area. The Silvretta Arena ski region offers two Snow Parks, one of them is the JEEP® Snow Park Ischgl, possibly the longest Snow Park in the Alps with the Vellil and the Idalp area. Snowboard and freeski experts from all over the world come here. In addition, there’s the Obstacle Park Samnaun on the Swiss side.

New is the Ischgl Skyfly, where the most courageous can fly 50 m above the ground on a zipline, wearing the ski equipment. Ischgl is not only famous for its skiing area, but also for Après Ski - some even claim that Après Ski has been invented here! The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol), the Freizeitticket Tyrol (32 skiing areas and other leisure time facilities in Tyrol) and the Silvretta Ski Pass (Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See) are valid here.
