Silvretta Arena Skiing Region - Paznauntal

The world-famous skiing area of Ischgl, a real paradise for winter athletes, extends to Samnaun in Switzerland

The Silvretta Arena, which unites the Ischgl Skiing Area with the shopping paradise of Samnaun, a customs enclave in Switzerland, is snow sure: Its snowmaking equipment ranks among the best of the world. Furthermore, here you'll find perfect conditions for skiing and state-of-the-art lift facilities - in fact, the Silvretta Arena Skiing Region has repeatedly been honoured for its efforts for the environment. The Silvretta Cable Car starts in the town centre, the Flim and Pardatschgrat Lifts at the edge of Ischgl, comfortably reachable by the Paznaun Ski Bus. The Silvretta Ski Pass is valid here as well as in the three other skiing areas of the Paznaun Valley: See, Galtür and Kappl.

Ischgl boasts 224 km of ski slopes, 15 km of ski routes and 45 lift facilities, making it the third largest skiing area of Tyrol. Its longest slopes is the 11 km long Route Eleven from Mt. Greitspitz to the town centre of Ischgl, the steepest run is the black slope no. 14a with a 70 % gradient. On the Idalp Pasture at 2,300 m a.s.l., where every year the famous "Top of the Mountain" Opening and Closing Concerts are held, there's the flat beginners area. Elton John and Kings of Leon, Demi Lovato and Sean Paul, Jason Derulo and Lenny Kravitz are some of the names on the Idalp stage.

The ski region offers two snow parks, one of them is the Ischgl Snow Park powered by JEEP, one of the longest one in the Alps with the Vellil Area and the Idalp Area. Snowboard and freeski experts from all over the world come here. In addition, there's the Obstacle Freestyle Board Park on the Swiss side. Other highlights are the three ski routes of the famous Smuggler's Tour, the mogul slopes and the freeride slopes of the Silvretta, one of the largest freeride areas in Europe. New, however, is the Ischgl Skyfly, where you can fly on a zipline, wearing the ski equipment.
