Zillertal Arena ski region

The largest snow and fun arena of the Zillertal valley with Austria’s longest downhill valley run offers ski fun on 143 km of ski slopes.

The Zillertal Arena is one of the largest and most modern skiing areas of Austria and includes the localities of Zell and Gerlos on Tyrolean territory as well as Königsleiten, Wald and Krimml in Salzburg. Four peaks, two regions, one skiing area: Here you are really spoilt for choice, e.g. with the Zell am Ziller ski run, Austria’s longest downhill valley run, boasting 1,930 metres of vertical drop. Snowboarders love the Arena Hot-Zone Snow Park with halfpipe in Gerlos, the Kreuzwiese Action Park in Zell and the Hochkrimml Fun Park. Speedy racers, however, will enjoy the permanent race tracks such as the Speed Check Run in Hochkrimml and in Königsleiten.

The Zillertal Arena is also a place for kids! A special children’s programme, a pick up service, day childcare and snow sailing as well as the children-friendly slopes make kids’ holidays varied. Moreover, at the Zell am Ziller valley station you can find the Arena Coaster, a toboggan run on rails. And if you would like to enjoy the slopes by yourself, there’s also a guests’ kindergarten. New in the winter season 2019/2020 are the Rosenalmbahn mountain station in Zell am Ziller, the 10-seater Stuanmandl Gondola in Gerlos and the Umbrella Restaurant-Bar in Gerlos.

A free shuttle service connects the localities of Wald, Neukirchen, Krimml and Königsleiten. By the way: Did you know that in this area the ski runs are cut and biologically fertilized? This has a positive impact on biodiversity and the overall appearance of the landscape! The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol) and the Zillertal Super Ski Pass (4 ski regions in the Zillertal valley, 535 km of slopes, 180 lift facilities) are valid in the Zillertal Arena.
