Grubigstein Skiing Area - Zugspitz Arena

Most of the ski slopes on Mt. Grubigstein are easy or medium difficult, including the three family runs

Grubigsteinbahn and Hochmoos-Express are the lifts that take winter sports enthusiasts from the edge of Lermoos up to more than 2,000 m a.s.l. where the 28.5 km of slopes of Mt. Grubigstein are waiting for you. Also the Family Jet, slightly shorter, starts in the village. Most of the slopes of Mt. Grubigstein are easy or medium difficult and also appreciated by carvers. Thanks to a free ski bus, it is connected to the 12.5 km of slopes on Mt. Marienberg in the neighbouring Biberwier.

The panoramic view from Mt. Grubigstein is breathtaking and includes the 2,962 m high Zugspitze, the highest peak of Germany: In fact, the Grubigstein Skiing Area is part of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena Ski Region which can be found in the surroundings of the mighty mountain. Furthermore you can admire the Lechtal Alps, the Mieming Range, the Wetterstein Mountains and the Ammergau Alps. Two of the most popular slopes on Mt. Grubigstein are the Blueline XXL, with about 10 km one of the longest easy downhill runs of Austria, and the Skiline Skimovie Run.

From 7.30 am in the morning you can enjoy once a week the freshly groomed slopes at "First Track", an offer dedicated to early birds. Afterwards, a mountain breakfast is the perfect start into a new ski day in Tyrol. The natural area for freeriders as well as the Beginner Fun Park at the intermediate station, however, are a paradise for snowboarders. The latter features several jumps and a permanent race track. The winter offer of the Grubigstein Skiing Area is completed by the Brettlalm toboggan run, the longest natural toboggan run of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena. It stretches from the intermediate station to the valley station of the Hochmoos-Express. Unique!
