The stunning slopes of the Füssener Jöchle Skiing Area are located high above Grän in the Tannheimer Valley.
The Füssener Jöchle Cable Car, one of the five lift factilies of the Sonnenbergbahnen Grän, takes you in a few minutes from the edge of the village up to 1,823 m a.s.l. On the Jochalpe you can enjoy the 9 km of slopes of the skiing area high above the Tannheimer Valley, rated as easy and medium difficult. The view on the valley and on the Allgäu is breathtaking: In good weather conditions, it reaches until Neuschwanstein, the famous castle in Southern Bavaria.
The longest slope of the Füssener Jöchle Skiing Area is the medium difficult family run to Grän. In the valley, however, the Märchenwiesen Lift (Fairytale Meadows) gives the small ones the possibility to make first steps on skis. Due to snow cannons covering 80 % of the Füssener Jöchle Skiing Area, fun on the slopes is guaranteed until April. Relax, however, is guaranteed on the sun terraces of the three rest points of the area - Sonnenalm, Sonnenhof and "s'Um und Auf".
By the way: The Grän Lift Operating Company was founded already in 1967, in the same year the first ski tow was opened. Three years later, the chairlift was inaugurated - at that time Europe's longest double-seat chairlift without intermediate station. A skiing area with a long history...
