The Spieljochbahn skiing area at the entrance of the Zillertal valley offers the longest downhill run that can be snowed up artificially.
In Fügen, at the entrance of the beautiful Zillertal valley, there's the Spieljochbahn skiing area with its 25.5 km of slopes, mostly of medium difficulty. For this reason the area is above all popular with beginners and families. The offer is ideal for those who would like to spend relaxing days on snow. The winter web portal skiresort.de listed the Spieljochbahn skiing area in 2019 as "Insider Tip: World leading ski resort with up to 30 km of slopes"!
Children can make their first passes on snow by using the two magic carpets. Furthermore, the "Zwergerl Club" is waiting for them at the mountain station. By improving the snowmaking equipment, however, the Spieljochbahn skiing area offers also the longest downhill run of the Zillertal valley that can be snowed up artificially. It is connected to the Hochfügen ski resort by a shuttle service which takes you in 8 minutes to the lift facilities.
By the rebuilding of the Spieljochbahn funicular in 2017/2018, the skiing area offers now also a Fun Slope and a Snow Park, a racetrack and a practise area at the valley station as well as the 5.5 km long toboggan run from the mountain station to the intermediate station. Furthermore, it features a starting and landing place for paragliders, which is accessible also in winter. The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol) and the Zillertal Super Ski Pass (4 ski regions in the Zillertal valley, 535 km of slopes, 180 lift facilities) are valid in the Spieljochbahn skiing area.
