The village of Fügen at the entrance of the Zillertal valley is the gate to the 21 km of slopes of the Spieljoch Family Mountain. Here, the offer is ideal for those who would like to spend relaxing days on the snow, and here takes place the Ski Food Festival Hochzillertat at the start of the skiing season, which offers culinary treats from 14 countries in 14 ski huts.
Children can make their first passes on the skis by using the magic carpets - the popular "Zwergerl Club" is waiting for them at the mountain station. By improving the snowmaking equipment, however, the Spieljochbahn Skiing Area offers now also the longest downhill run of the Zillertal valley that can be snowed up artificially and the racetrack at the Onkeljoch Lift.
Some years ago, the area - which is connected to the Hochfügen Ski Resort by a shuttle service - was enlarged with a Fun Slope and a Snow Park, a practise area at the valley station, and the 5.5 km long Spieljoch toboggan run from the mountain to the intermediate station. Furthermore, it features a starting and landing place for paragliders, which is accessible also in winter.
