Hochoetz in the Oetztal valley offers 39 km of ski slopes, ranging from 814 m to 2,272 m a.s.l. Together with the Kühtai Skiing Area, Hochoetz forms the Hochoetz-Kühtai Ski Region featuring 80 km of beautiful slopes. The two skiing areas are connected by a ski bus that runs every half-hour.
The skiing area is accessible from two villages: from Oetz and from Ochsengarten, located at 1,500 m a.s.l. along the road to the Kühtai Pass. One of the most beautiful slopes is the Brunnenkopf run, from where the snow-capped Stubai Alps seem within one's grasp. The Hochoetz Skiing Region - with 64 days per season of sunshine - is among the five sunniest Austrian ski regions.
Children, however, can make their first experiences on skis, guided by certified ski instructors - they teach them skiing in a playful manner. Always by their side is the mascot "WIDI", a cute sheep, which accompanies them the whole year round through the Oetztal valley. Also a child-oriented restaurant, realised in different colours, awaits the little guests.
