Together with the Kühtai skiing area, Hochoetz forms the snow sure Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region.
Hochoetz in the Oetztal valley offers 39 km of ski slopes of every level of difficulty, ranging from 814 m to 2,272 m a.s.l. (Wetterkreuz cable car), and 13 lift facilities. And in case natural snow is lacking, the skiing area is covered at 100% by artificial snow. The most beautiful panoramic slope is the Brunnenkopf downhill run - the snow-capped Stubai Alps seem within one's grasp!
The skiing area is accessible from two villages: from Oetz in the Oetztal valley and from the hamlet of Ochsengarten, located at 1,500 m a.s.l. along the pass road to the Kühtai Saddle. Together with the Kühtai skiing area, Hochoetz forms the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region featuring 80 km of slopes and 25 lift facilities. The two skiing areas are connected by a ski bus that runs every half-hour. The slopes have been awarded the Tyrolean quality seal, furthermore Hochoetz - with 64 days per season of sunshine - is among the 5 sunniest Austrian ski regions.
Children, however, can make their first experiences on skis, guided by certified ski instructors - they teach them skiing in a playful manner. Always by their side is the mascot "WIDI", a cute sheep, such as at the WIDI Rally or in the WIDI Funpark. Also a child-oriented restaurant, realised in different colours, awaits the little guests. The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol), the Tyrol Regio Card (reductions for leisure time facilities in Tyrol) and the Oetztal Super Ski Pass (361 km of slopes, 60 lift facilities and 6 skiing areas) are valid in this skiing area.
