Pitztal Glacier - Rifflsee skiing area

Austria’s highest located glacial skiing area does not only attract due to its breahtaking panoramic view on the surrounding mountains.

The skiing area high above St. Leonhard im Pitztal offers ideal skiing conditions on 44 km of ski slopes of every level of difficulty. The highest funicular all over Austria, the Wildspitzbahn, takes you to Austria’s highest located coffee bar, the “Café 3,440″ at the 3,440 m high Mt. Hinterer Brunnenkogel. Everything is outperformed by the 3,768 m high Mt. Wildspitze, the highest peak of Tyrol. The Pitztal Glacier stays open for winter sports enthusiasts also in spring and in autumn. There, snowboarders can look forward to the great Cross Park at the Mittelbergerbahn lift facility boasting waves, hand rails, straight boxes, jumps, corners and step-ups.

In the Rifflsee skiing area, however, named after the nearby lake, you can enjoy skiing from December to April. One of the offers that has to be highlighted is the “Bambini-Freiskipass”, which offers a free skipass for a child under the age of 10 when accompanied by a paying parent. 108.5 km km of cross-country ski tracks can be explored in the valley by those who love nordic sports. And after a beautiful winter day, you can meet up in the mountain restaurant Rifflsee, the cosy Rifflsee ski hut or the country style Taschach refuge for Après Ski. A real pleasure!

The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol), the Tyrol Regio Card (reductions for leisure time facilities in Tyrol), the Top Snow Card (213 km of slopes between North Tyrol and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria) and the Allgäu Glacier Card (Allgäu and Tyrol with the Kaunertal and Pitztal Glaciers), as well as the “White 5″ ski pass (all 5 glacial skiing areas in Tyrol: Kaunertal, Pitztal, Stubai, Sölden and Hintertux Glaciers) and the Glacier Park Card Winter (6 skiing areas around the Pitztal and Kaunertal Glaciers) are valid in this skiing area.
