The skiing area high above St. Leonhard im Pitztal offers ideal skiing conditions on 44 km of natural snow pistes. The Glacier Express and the Wildspitz Cable Car take you up to the 3,440 m high Mt. Hinterer Brunnenkogel with Austria's highest located patisserie at the "3,440 m", realised on an impressive futuristic terrace. Up there, you can also enjoy an unforgettable view on the glaciers of the Pitztal valley in Austria’s highest located (nature) cinema. Everything is outperformed by the 3,768 m high Mt. Wildspitze, the highest peak of Tyrol. Superlatives!

The Pitztal Glacier starts the skiing season already in September. Snowboarders can look forward to the X Park with different areas, and to the great Cross Park. For children there's a own training area, and for ski tourers the Tour Park powered by DYNAFIT. "IDE Snow Maker", however, is the new concept on the glacier, which is able to produce snow without adding chemical substances, based on physical laws. It grants an early season start in autumn, and produces a man-made snow layer between the eternal ice and the natural snow in order to avoid further glacier recession.

The Rifflsee Skiing Area around the eponymous lake, however, can be reached from Mandarfen and starts its season a few weeks later. It also features a training area, furthermore you can enjoy a mogul slope and the Kids World in Mandarfen. One of the offers of the Pitztal Glacier - Rifflsee Skiing Area that has to be highlighted is the Bambini-Freiskipass, a free ski pass for a child under 10 when accompanied by a paying parent. A network of cross-country ski tracks can be explored in the valley by those who love nordic sports. This includes the Pitztal Glacier high-altitude track between 2,690 m and 2,740 m a.s.l. and the Rifflsee high-altitude track at 2,200 m a.s.l.
