The city of Kufstein with its fortress represents the cultural centre of the region. This is where every year wine festivals, operettas, theatre and traditional highlights such as the cattle drive and farmers’ markets take place. Also the mountains are near: the new Kaiserlift Kufstein funicular - which has been renovated in 2014/2015 - takes you directly from the city on the Brentenjoch mountain with its walking paths. In the surroundings, however, there is the 1,828 m high Hohe Salve mountain and charming holiday resorts, such as Wörgl, the pilgrimage site Mariastein and the high valley of the Wildschönau.
In winter, the holiday area Kufsteinerland - Hohe Salve - Wildschönau is located at the entrance of the largest ski resort of Austria, which is also known beyond borders, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. On the 280 km of ski slopes you can endlessly enjoy skiing. What is also recommendable is of course tobogganing and après ski - a real must-do in Tyrol!
