The holiday area Oberinntal extends from Landeck to the Italian and Swiss border. The chief city Landeck is a cosy city featuring 8,000 inhabitants and does not only offer a great natural landscape with waterfalls and gorges, but is also very interesting from a cultural point of view. The grounds of Landeck Castle are often venue for events such as tastings, concerts, open air cinema, workshops and “Advent in the Castle”.
Due to its position and its mountain passes such as the Finstermünz pass leading to the Swiss canton Engadin, and the Passo di Resia, leading to South Tyrol in Italy, this area is particularly popular with bikers, both motorized and not. Also hiking trails in summer and skiing areas in winter provide fantastic perspectives and are in part even cross-border. Moreover there are protected areas such as the Oetztal Nature Park and Kaunergrat Nature Park reaching this holiday area, offering a rich diversity of species.
