Kaunertal Glacier - Fendels Skiing Area

The majestic Kaunertal Glacier and the winter mountain Fendels form together one of the most beautiful skiing areas in Austria

The "Youngest Glacier of Tyrol" allied with Fendels at the entrance of the Kaunertal in order to offer even more possibilities: Today you can enjoy 61 km of perfectly groomed slopes, which in part open on the glacier already in early autumn. Surrounded by 30 three-thousanders, the Kaunertal Glacier is accessible from Feichten on the 26 km long Glacier Road, which is toll-free with a valid ski pass. The lifts into the Fendels skiing area, however, start from the eponymous village.

The Kaunertal Glacier stands out with its wide glacier slopes with natural snow and the freeride lines. In this skiing area, the Kaunertal Snow Park is waiting for boarders, and the Black Ibex slope for adventurers - it's the steepest slope of Europe with a 87.85 % gradient. Also the events held in this place are known beyond borders, including the Kaunertal Opening and the Spring Classics. Last year, the new Weissseejoch Cable Car was added to the seven lift facilities. Night-time skiing and tobogganing and the Snow Park Fendels, however, are offered on the winter mountain Fendels. This manageable area with the BIBI Kids Land is perfectly suited for families.

The 100 % barrier-free Kaunertal Glacier - Fendels Skiing Area has already received the EDEN-Award. Many services are free, such as Wlan in the mountain restaurants, the ski bus, and the ski tickets for children under 8 years and for seniors over 80 years. A special highlight is the viewing platform "Drei-Länderblick" (View of Three Countries) at the Karlesjoch pass at 3,108 m a.s.l.
