The "Youngest Glacier of Tyrol" allied with the winter mountain Fendels at the entrance of the Kaunertal valley in order to offer even more possibilities: So today you can enjoy 50 km of perfectly groomed slopes, snow-sureness from October to May on the Kaunertal Glacier and from December to April in the Fendels skiing area, and family friendly prices.
The Kaunertal Glacier stands out with its wide glacier slopes. In this skiing area, the Kaunertal Snow Park is waiting for snowboarders and freeskiers, and the Black Ibex slope for adventurers - it's the steepest slope of Europe with a 87.85% gradient. Also the events held in this place are known beyond borders, including the Kaunertal Opening and the Spring Classics. In the winter season 2021/22, the new Weissseejoch Cable Car will be added to the seven lift facilities.
Night-time skiing and tobogganing, however, are offered in Fendels, a barrier-free ski resort, awarded with the EDEN-Award. This manageable area is perfectly suited for families and offers an adventure playground, the "BIBI Kinderland" and the Kidspark Fendels. A highlight is the viewing platform "Drei-Länderblick" (View of Three Countries) at the Karlesjoch pass at 3,108 m a.s.l.
