The Karwendel Bergbahnen lift facilities take you from Pertisau to the small Zwölferkopf skiing area high above Lake Achensee.
Several skiing areas can be found in the surroundings of Lake Achensee, among them also the Zwölferkopf, a 1,491 m high peak of the Karwendel mountain chain. The Karwendel Bergbahnen lift facilities start at the outskirts of Pertisau, on the western bank of the lake, and take you to the skiing area with its 12 km of easy and moderate slopes. The location of the skiing area is fantastic: sparkling Lake Achensee down in the valley and a deeply snowy landscape up on the mountain!
Especially the flat plains of the Wiesenlifte and Planberg ski lifts are perfectly suitable for beginners. Also little guests get their money's worth - the Pertisau Ski School offers BOBO's Kids Club, where little skiers are cared for and make their first steps on skis with the help of the BOBO-Express and of its mascot, a cute penguin. A special highlight for kids can be found at the Karwendel mountain inn - a 250 m long snow tubing slope make eyes shine.
Popular slopes are the wide Zwölferkopf downhill run towards the Tristenautal valley and the Hubertus slope, which enables a gorgeous view on Lake Achensee. At the Karwendel mountain station a winter hiking trail starts - it proceeds in 1.5 hours to the Bärenbadalm pasture and further on to the Karwendel mountain inn, where you have to enjoy the delicious Kaiserschmarrn. The Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol) is valid in the skiing area.
