In the border triangle Tyrol - Salzburg - Bavaria a skiing area is located, which is popular for its wide carving slopes and sunny hillsides: the Steinplatte. In Waidring, the valley station of the 15-seater gondola is located, but the Steinplatte Skiing Area is also reachable from Bavaria, via the Winklmoos Mountain Pasture. Therefore, with a combined ski pass, two skiing areas can be used.
The 1.5 km long Steinplatte Snow Park is very popular, combining the best elements of snow park and boardercross for plenty of winter fun. Numerous ski huts provide sustenance with Tyrolean and Bavarian delicacies, such as "Kasspatzln" (cheese gnocchi) and "Tiroler Gröstl" (meat with potatoes), among them the Kammerkör mountain inn, the Stallenalm Hut and the Möseralm Hut.
Children, however, can look forward to the "Triassi Kinderland" on the ski school area and the "Hausberg Arena", both located in the centre of Waidring. The offer is completed by the Triassic Fun Slope with its snow elements at the Steinplatte Snow Park. The Steinplatte Skiing Area is one of the eight skiing areas within the famous 3 Country Leisure Arena.
