One of the most traditional skiing areas with one of the first ski lifts in Tyrol can be found on Mt. Kellerjoch near Schwaz.

On the sunny Kellerjoch, the 2,344 m high local mountain of Schwaz, there's a small skiing area which provides a great view on the Tux Alps in the south and the Karwendel Mountains in the north. The Kellerjochbahnen lift facilities take you from the hamlet of Pill up to 1,887 m a.s.l.
With its own family downhill run and the Grafenast Kids' Park on a sunny practise slope, Mt. Kellerjoch is very family-friendly. For those who love challenges, there is the Waizer Slope and the sports downhill run. Also the 9.2 km long toboggan run from the Hecherhaus Mountain Hut (1,900 m a.s.l.) to the Grafenast intermediate station is part of the skiing area. It continues down the valley to Freundsberg Castle in Schwaz and represents North Tyrol's longest natural toboggan run.
Beside the Kellerjoch, there are a few single ski lifts in the Silver Region Karwendel: in Weerberg the two Schwanner Lifts, the Hüttegg Lift with its slope which overcomes a drop of 250 metres, the Burglift in Stans with the HOTZONE.TV Snow Park, and the two T-bar lifts in Kolsassberg.
