The idyllic Berwang-Bichlbach-Rinnen-Heiterwang skiing area belongs to the ski region Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena.
Berwang is a picturesque mountain village with a small but excellent skiing area of manageable size, in which particularly families with children feel at ease. At an altitude of 1,336 m a.s.l. you can perfectly relax and recharge your batteries, surrounded by a great winter landscape. Since the fusion with the Thanellerkarlifte facilities in 2016, the skiing area has connected the villages of Bichlbach, Heiterwang, Berwang and Rinnen. Partly the slopes come down at your doorstep.
12 lift facilities - a 10-seater gondola, a 6- and 8-seater combined lift, three chairlifts and seven ski lifts - take you onto 36 km of well-groomed slopes. Between December and March, every Thursday the lift facilities stay open for nighttime-skiing along the Egghof Sun Jet slope and for nighttime-tobogganing on the Ehrwald run. Snowboarders, however, may enjoy the Obstacle Funpark at the Thanellerkar lift facility. You need a helping hand when doing your first steps on skis? The Berwang Ski School has been awarded four times in succession with the Quality Award of the Tyrolean ski instructor association and offers a special kids' ski school.
If you would like to enjoy the winter off the slopes, the surroundings offer also 20 km of cross-country ski tracks, an ice-skating ground or numerous winter walking trails. The Skiarena Berwang-Bichlbach is part of the ski region Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena (142 km of slopes) around the northernmost glacier of the Alps. The Top Snow Card (213 km of slopes between North Tyrol and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria), the Snow Card Tyrol (more than 90 skiing areas in Tyrol) and the Tyrol Regio Card (reductions for leisure time facilities in Tyrol) are valid here.
Due to the tightened measures taken on November 3, 2020 to control the coronavirus, the start of the 2020-21 winter season has been postponed to December 24, 2020. Catering and accommodation establishments will be closed until the end of February 2021.
