Stubai Glacier Skiing Area - Stubaital

Austria’s largest glacier ski resort offers guaranteed snow and stunning views

Above Neustift im Stubaital sits the majestic Stubai Glacier. Along the glacier road, easily accessible by free ski bus, the Eisgrat and Gamsgarten Cable Cars, two of the 26 lifts in total, take you up the mountain. They transport you to 44 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes and 21 kilometres of ski routes. Guaranteed snow from autumn until May is included. The ski season kicks off with an Oktoberfest at the Eisgrat mountain station. This station is also home to the Schaufelspitz gourmet restaurant, the highest-altitude award-winning restaurant in the Alps.

Even higher up is the Jochdohle, the mountain restaurant by the "Top of Tyrol" viewing platform at 3,210 metres. From here, you can access the slopes in the realm of eternal snow. Highlights include the 10-kilometre-long Daunferner descent (Piste No. 7), the equally long Wilde Grub'n ski route, and the race track. The steepest slope is the Daunhill with a 60% gradient.

Families can look forward to the BIG Family Fun Slope and the BIG Family Ski Camp for children and teenagers. Boarders are drawn to the Snowpark Stubai Zoo on the Gaisskarferner, which was recently expanded to include a jib line with its own park lift (Zoo Shuttle). This hotspot of the international freeski and snowboard scene hosts the annual F.I.S. Freeski World Cup Stubai. If that's not enough, the SKI plus CITY Pass Innsbruck Stubai includes 12 ski resorts between the Stubai Valley and Innsbruck. The Stubai ski pass, on the other hand, is automatically included with the purchase of ski passes for 4 days or more: It's valid in all ski resorts in the Stubai Valley.
