“Top of Tyrol” viewing platform

A breathtaking and seemingly endless view from the Stubai Glacier awaits you on the “Top of Tyrol”

The modern 3S Eisgrat Cable Car and the Schaufeljoch Cable Car take visitors from the Stubai Glacier Road in the valley up into the majestic beauty of the Stubai Mountains, or more precisely into the hiking and skiing area on the Stubai Glacier during the summer and winter season. From there it is only a few minutes' walk to one of the most popular highlights of the Stubaital valley: the "Top of Tyrol" viewing platform at 2,750 m a.s.l. And here you really are above Tyrol.

A fantastic view on more than 109 three-thousand-metre peaks of the Alps, including the Stubai Alps, Dolomites and Ortles Alps, awaits you. Afterwards, the Jochdohle restaurant invites you to stop for a bite to eat. Together with platforms like the Trollstigen in Norway and Las Cruces on the Mexican pilgrimage route Ruta del Peregrino, the "Top of Tyrol" was chosen by GEO magazine as one of the 10 most beautiful viewing platforms worldwide. Take a deep breath and enjoy!

By the way, the platform itself weighs several tonnes and was designed by architects from Innsbruck. Weatherproof Corten steel is supposed to last the years and withstand the weather conditions at this height. The fact that the platform not only stands on solid ground but also towers nine metres above the abyss means that there is some thrill included.
