In Wattens east of Innsbruck you can find a breathtaking adventure world: In 1995, the Crystal Worlds (Swarovski Kristallwelten) were established on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of the foundation of the crystal company Swarovski. Already the entrance amazes as it features the shape of a huge spouting head of an alpine giant, created by the Austrian artist André Heller.
After having left behind the Giant and entered the Crystal Worlds, everything revolves around these minerals. In the 17 Chambers of Wonder, internationally and nationally recognized artists, designers, and architects have interpreted crystal in their own unique ways. The chambers have fine-sounding names like "Blue Hall" and "La Primadonna Assoluta", "El Sol" and "Chandelier Jungle". One of the central halls is the Crystal Dome with its dome made of 595 mirrors.
In 2015, the Swarovski Crystal Worlds were redesigned and newly opened due to the 120th anniversary of Swarovski's founding in Tyrol: Now there's also a playtower and a playground, as well as the unique Crystal Cloud in the new garden, an installation consisting of 800,000 hand-mounted Swarovski crystals which drifts above the black Mirror Pool. The "Daniels Kristallwelten. Café & Restaurant" with own patisserie invites you afterwards to some culinary delicacies.
