Kappl-Sunny Mountain Skiing Area - Paznauntal

Family fun and freeriding at Sunny Mountain: Explore the slopes of the Kappl & See Ski Resort in the Paznaun Valley

The Paznaun Valley is a true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The Kappl-Sunny Mountain Skiing Area boasts 45 kilometres of pistes and ski routes, alongside traditional mountain huts perfect for a cosy stop. The Dias Cable Car whisks you from the edge of Kappl up to an altitude of 2,690 metres. Snow is guaranteed thanks to the high altitude and modern snowmaking facilities. The longest descent, the eight-kilometre Latten run, covers a 1,000-metre vertical drop and, at 50 metres wide, offers ideal conditions for carving. Freestylers can let loose in the Kappl Snow Park. For freeriders, almost all slopes are accessible directly from the top stations: An information board at the Dias top station provides details on snow depths and other up-to-date information.

Kappl-Sunny Mountain is particularly family-friendly. The Sunny Mountain Adventure Park offers a spacious children's area, a huge winter playground with a ski carousel, a dedicated children's slope, and, of course, Flaxi the mountain gnome as its mascot. At the Diasbahn top station, you'll find the Sunny Mountain Club Kappl, offering professional childcare for children aged three and up. Kappl also has plenty to offer away from the slopes. The six-kilometre Diasbahn toboggan run, which also offers moonlight tobogganing, promises exhilarating fun.

Or how about a fatbike tour? Speed down snow-covered slopes on these bikes' wide tyres. The Silvretta Ski Pass is valid in the ski resort and can be used for all four ski areas in the Paznaun Valley. Since the 2023/24 winter season, Sunny Mountain has also formed a combined ski resort, Kappl & See, with the See Skiing Area. A single ski pass allows you to use the slopes of both areas, and a free ski bus connects the two villages (journey time approximately 10-15 minutes).
