Hike to Mt. Wildseeloder

From the Lärchfilzkogel at the mountain station of the Fieberbrunn Cable Car we hike to the beautiful Lake Wildsee and climb the above located panoramic mountain

Lake Wildsee is situated in a hollow between the summits of Mt. Marokka, Mt. Henne and Mt. Wildseeloder. The view over the water surface with the Wildseeloder Mountain Hut (Wildseeloderhaus) and, in the background, the Loferer Steinberge Mountains, is not without reason one of the most popular photo motives of the Tyrolean mountain world. In Fieberbrunn we take the cable car up to the mountain station at the Lärchfilzkogel and follow the path to the Wildseeloder Hut. The route with the marker 711 (Fieberbrunn High Route) first leads downhill to the Wildalm, then the ascent to the refuge starts. After almost an hour's walk, we reach the mountain hut, which lies directly at the Wildsee lake at an altitude of about 1,850 m a.s.l.

But we want to hike a little further up in order to enjoy the most beautiful view. Behind the mountain hut, path no. 5 starts, which leads steeply up to the summit of Mt. Wildseeloder. During the ascent we first have a beautiful view on the lake, later on the whole area from the Kaiser Mountains to the Steinberge mountains and, in the south, on the main Alpine ridge with the High Tauern. For the descent into the valley we recommend the variant via path no. 5 and 5A (via Seenieder). This is not only less steep, but also offers a wonderful view on Lake Wildsee and the refuge. From there we walk back to the cable car station on path no. 711.
