Hike on Mt. Hahnenkamm

This scenic panoramic hike leads from the Hahnenkamm mountain crest to Mt. Pengelstein through the alpine meadow landscape at an altitude between 1,570 and 1,930 m a.s.l

By the Hahnenkamm Cable Car we reach from Kitzbühel the Hochkitzbühel mountain station. Here our panoramic hike starts: First we follow the path to the Hahnenkamm Stüberl tavern and to the Ehrenbachöhe, then the ascent follows the western slope of the Steinbergkogel.

Behind us a fantastic view opens up on the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser, while early summer makes the alpine meadows bloom. Always on the wide gravel path we continue to the Jufenkamm. At the Brunn reservoir we have already done most of the way there. Without noticeable ascents we manage the last section to the Pengelstein tavern, directly at the mountain station of the cable car. The still snow-covered peaks of the main Alpine ridge are reflected in the nearby Pengelsteinsee and Hiesleggsee storage lakes. Later we take the same route for our way back.
