Hike from the Tuxertal to the Geiseljoch pass

A long hike on the sunny alpine meadows near Vorderlanersbach to the transition to the Weertal valley at almost 2,300 m a.s.l

This hike is easy, but quite long and it leads through the alpine meadows of both the Geislalm and Hobalm huts in the Tux Valley. The starting point is Schöneben above Vorderlanersbach. The road is open to traffic until the junction "Vogelnest". From there we follow the path towards Geiselalm and Hobalm, first marked with the number 315. Below the Geiselalm Mountain Hut we switch to path no. 47 towards Hobalm / Vallruckalm. If we instead stayed on path no. 315 we would have reached the Geiseljoch on a narrow and steep path. After a few bends, at about 1,900 m we have again the possibility to follow the signpost to the Geiseljoch on our right.

In that way almost the entire route leads over alpine roads with gravel surface, only the last 500 metres to the Geiseljoch we walk on a narrower path. We remember this hike not only because of the rich flora of the alpine meadows, but also because of the view on the Tux Alps and the surrounding mountain groups. Please keep in mind that on sunny days you'll hardly find any shady sections along the route.
