Hike to the Heidelberger Hütte hut

Extensive, but thanks to good trails easy hike through the Fimbatal valley from the Pardatsch Alp to the Heidelberg Mountain Hut at the head of the valley

From the village centre of Ischgl we reach the intermediate station at the Pardatsch Alp by the Silvretta Cable Car. Here our hike through the Fimbatal valley starts on the path no. 302. First we follow the asphalt road towards the Boden Alp. Past Lake Schwarzwasser and the meadows near the Pirsting Alp we hike along the Fimbabach brook to the Boden Alp (rest point), where the valley becomes a bit wider again. Soon afterwards, at the lift facilities, the asphalt road ends and the gravel road continues to the unspoilt part of the Fimba Valley. Here the heathland and the alpine meadows of this high valley predominate and we already reach the timber line.

From here we can already see Mt. Fluchthorn at the end of the valley. After the bridge over the brook we pass the "Philosopher's Stone", here we have managed more than half of the way. On the opposite side of the valley the meadows of the Fimba Alp stretch, a little further on the Swiss part of the Fimbatal valley (Val Fenga) begins, which belongs to the Engadine municipality of Sent. The area is the home of grazing cattle and countless marmots. At the end of the valley we already see the Heidelberg Mountain Hut (Heidelberger Hütte) which we reach after almost 3 hours walk. Although the mountain hut already is located on Swiss terrain, one pays with Euro here.
