The area around Mt. Hohe Salve used to be regarded as a witch's country: The magical and healing women who lived here were feared and revered by the population at the same time. They wore jewellery made of polished stream stones, which were made to shine by the witches in a stone mill after grinding. Today, the place at the middle station of the Hohe Salve is dedicated to children and families at the Magical Witches' Water Hochsöll (Hexenwasser Hochsöll, in German).
Discoverers, dreamers and curious people enter a world of experience with small and large wonders. Stations, paths and chambers of wonders can be discovered at the Magical Witches' Water, partly on your own, partly under guidance, because at the HeXpeditions the witches themselves help you with the work and tasting and show you all kinds of interesting things. Afterwards, you can walk barefoot along the 2 km long - Austria's longest - barefoot path.
For a few years now, the Magical Witches' Water Hochsöll has been open also during the skiing season, offering in the so-called "Hexenwinter" (Witches' Winter) a lot of adventures. There are bewitched stations with snowmen, sweeping witches and the magic of snow, furthermore bewitched ski slopes - the SkiWorld Söll is known as very family-friendly skiing area - and interesting winterly HeXpeditions for skiing and sledging enthusiasts.
