A popular family park is accessible along the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse panoramic road which leads to the Kaltenbacher Skihütte, a traditional mountain inn at 1,800 m a.s.l. managed by the Schweiberer family. This Marmot Park (Murmelland Zillertal) is dedicated to the marmots, the sweet mammals that live in this part of the Zillertal Alps. Their whistles can sometimes be heard.
The mountain hut with its sun terrace invites to relax, while the kids discover the playground with its playhouses, an airplane and a waterpark with pirate ship and water wheel. The single stations are called Marmot Kids Cable Car, Marmot Kids Cave and Shaky Trail. The 12 m long Marmot Slide and a Kneipp basin complete the offer of the adventure playground.
The special highlight, however, is the adjacent petting zoo with goats, sheep, donkeys, llamas, alpacas, and mini pigs. Next to it starts the Hubertus Wildtierpfad, a wild animal adventure path which is also suitable for prams. The 3.5 km long trail offers 12 interactive adventure stations.
