Family Park Zettersfeld

The 2,300 m high Zettersfeld, the sun plateau of Lienz, can be reached comfortably by the Lienzer Bergbahnen lift facilities. In 2019, the Family Park Zettersfeld (Familienpark Zettersfeld), a 3.7 km long theme trail with 15 adventure stations, was inaugurated on top of the mountain. It starts at the mountain station with the delivery of the adventure kit: a racket, a ball and a little story book.

The stations along the circular trail - suitable for prams - made of natural materials are created to offer space to run and play for children, and integrate themselves harmoniously into nature. You are accompanied by the "Steiner Mandl", a legendary figure and mountain troll which is named after the Steinermandl viewpoint at 2,220 m a.s.l. However, "Steinerne Mandln" are also called the small stone figures that hikers build in the mountains... and "Spielplatz Steiner Mandl" is the name of the new playground here at more than 2,000 m a.s.l. which was inaugurated in 2022.

Along the path there's e.g. the Adventure (Mini)Golf and several animal stations which tell about the farm and mountain animals. It leads also past the three mountain huts Bidner (1,800 m a.s.l.), Mecki's Dolomiten-Panoramastubn and Naturfreundehütte (both at 1,850 m a.s.l.) which invite to a stop. A relaxing day in the mountains awaits you. If you aim higher, the Steinermandl Chairlift overcomes further 400 m in altitude difference, taking you to the Steinermandl at 2,220 m a.s.l.
