The Tassenbach reservoir is located in the vicinity of the holiday village.

Strassen in the beautiful Hochpustertal valley is composed of a range of hamlets, in one of which a street branches off via Gailtal valley into the Lesachtal valley. In this place tradition and culture are of utmost importance, this is also what the two churches reveal. The Baroque Holy Trinity church with curved dome roof dates back to the 18th century, whereas the Gothic Saint Jacobus church has already been mentioned in 1293 AD. This church features frescoes of Leonhard von Scherhauff.
In summer, especially on hot days, everyone loves making a trip to the Tassenbach reservoir, which is also very popular with those who love fishing. If you have got enough time, the 2 km long nature trail provides you an insight into the wetland area and bird paradise, which has recently been declared a protected area. However, also those who love active holidays will feel at ease in Strassen: this is where the Drau cycle path goes past. Moreover a range of hiking trails in the surroundings offer you a piece of the Tyrolean Alps.
In winter, not far from Strassen, there is the ski center Sillian - Hochpustertal, featuring a total of 22.5 km of ski slopes. The Hochpustertaler Bergbahnen lift facilities take you on the Thurntaler mountain. Also cross-country skiers repeatedly come back to Strassen due to the 120 km of well groomed cross-country ski tracks. And what is really unforgettable is a horse-drawn sleigh ride in the winter landscape and the quiet ringing of the bells… a unique winter atmosphere!
Our recommendation: under a weeping willow on the opposite of the municipal offices of Strassen, there is a Roman cornerstone dating back to 300 AD. Really worth to be visited!
