The Filzalmsee, located in the Wilder Kaiser mountain chain is particularly popular on hot summer days. It can comfortably be reached by the Brixen im Thale Cable Car which takes you up to 1,300 m a.s.l. in the Hochbrixen hiking area. From the mountain station, it's only a 5-minutes' walk. Not only the natural landscape in the area is impressive. There are also lots of attractions.
Close to the lake there is a biotope, providing an insight into the underwater world in the pond. Furthermore there is a colossal hand movable via ropes, a huge eye turning the world upside down, as well as a water giant rising from the lake. Highlights for your wellbeing are a mud basin, a Kneipp basin, the foot massage, and for kids the water games area and the tree houses.
The lake is a perfect starting point for theme hikes - here you can choose between the Path of Giants, the Forest of Giants, the Fun of Giants and the Giants' Lakes Tour - and walks to other theme parks, including Ellmi’s Magic World. The new Zinsberg Cable Car, however, takes you even higher and is included in the day ticket in high season: At its mountain station there are a stunning viewing platform and the Relax Area of Giants with huge legs and hands.
