The locality of Hippach, a part of Mayrhofen, is located in the west of the Ziller river in the homonymous valley.
Altitude: 600 m asl
Hippach is a small locality in upper Zillertal valley and is, together with Mayrhofen, a very popular holiday destination both in summer and winter. The municipality extends on 600 to 2,762 m asl and is situated only a stone’s throw away from the lift facilities in Mayrhofen. The emblem of the village illustrates the steeple of Hippach as well as two crosiers reminding of the fact that the bishops of two dioceses (Bressanone and Salzburg) come from this place.
Surrounded by the Zillertal Alps, Tux Alps and Kitzbühel Alps, this place is ideal for those who love to spend active holidays, as it offers numerous possibilities for your leisure time. A great summer experience is to expore the landscape on two wheels, or to walk across the Nature Park Zillertal Alps on food. You wish for more adrenaline? So we recommend you a rafting tour. Or maybe you prefer paragliding from the high mountain peaks surrounding Hippach?
If you come to Hippach in winter you can look forward to skiing on the slopes in the heart of the Zillertal Alps. The skiing area Mayrhofen and its local mountain Penken offers slopes for every taste and level. No matter of you prefer snowboarding, skiing, tobogganing or winter walking, 142 km of slopes and a great winter landscape characterise Hippach and surroundings.
Our recommendation: the “Sommerwelt Hippach” sports and leisure centre offers not only a leisure pool, a sports and a children’s pool, but also two beach volleyball courts (the largest beach volleyball facility in Tyrol), a trampoline area and a bouncy castle. Furthermore there are a stream and an “Airbubble”!
