The holiday resort Uderns is located in the heart of the Zillertal valley along the Zillertal Railway. Once upon a time, in the village there was not only a famous oil distillery, but from the 16th to the 19th century of great economic important were also the iron ore industry and a steam hammer plant. As one of few villages of the Zillertal valley, Uderns has always been part of Tyrol...

The surrounding mountain world of the Zillertal Alps is characterised by frequent glaciation above 2,500 m a.s.l. One of its most impressive mountains is the Hintertux Glacier, located about 30 km from Uderns at the head of the valley, actually denominating the two glaciers Gefrorene-Wand-Kees and Riepenkees. Both are made accessible via lift facilities and are famous as whole-year round skiing area. Not only is this glacier impressive in winter, but also in summer it is fantastic to enjoy the fabulous view from the panoramic terrace at 3,250 m a.s.l.

For some years now, the Zillertal Railway has been stopping again at Uderns. This narrow-gauge railway has been operating from 1902 between Jenbach and Mayrhofen. Furthermore there's the 18-hole golf course, featuring three new short holes with hills and water hazards. In winter, cross-country skiing and sledging on the toboggan run Kupfnerberg are on the programme.
