In Hollenzen, a district of Mayrhofen, a show dairy invites to an interesting excursion into the world of milk products. The aim is to show the origin and production of the hay milk products in an exciting way. Important element thereby is the show farm, where cows, sheep and goats are kept species-appropriate. Besides it offers special games for the young ones as well as rest areas and a reading corner for the adults.
Hundreds of mountain farms and huts of the Zillertal valley produce the hay milk which is then processed in the Adventure Dairy (ErlebnisSennerei) into cheese, butter yogurt and co. Information boards and audio guides provide the details. The young guests are accompanied by the blue cow Zilli and its farmer. And finally, the products of course can be tasted.
The Adventure Dairy is also a popular event location. Annual festivals like the Mother’s Day celebration, the Whitsun Folk Music Festival and many others take place at the dairy. Thereby Tyrolean folk music and delicacies of the dairy kitchen are combined and the products can be tasted and enjoyed in a very special atmosphere.
