Riedel Glass Kufstein

Riedel Glass is known for developing and producing unique grape variety-specific glasses. It was the first company in history to recognise that the taste and aroma of a drink are influenced by the shape of the vessel from which it is drunk. The family-owned company is renowned for its revolutionary designs that perfectly complement alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and its premises can also be visited.

The Riedel Museum and the "Glass Cabinet - Retrospective and Idea Laboratory" at the Kufstein site present a comprehensive overview of the work of the Riedel glassmaking family in Kufstein from 1957 onwards, along with highlights of the family's history and the art of glassmaking in Bohemia. Some of the exhibits on display come from the family's private collection.

The Glassmakers' Museum features an interactive, family-friendly presentation of the craft, including the physics and chemistry of glass production. From the museum, you get an exclusive look into the glassworks. After an informative and interactive introduction to glass production, the history of the craft, and Riedel's production sites, you can see how glasses are handcrafted using wooden and metal tools. In the heart of the Tyrolean glassworks, which is part of the tour, you will then see how the talented glassmakers craft a drinking glass or a decanter.
