In Tarrenz, a magic village in the holiday area of Imst in the Tiroler Oberland, is quite a lot to discover: the Beer Experience at Starkenberg Castle, the Open-Air Mining Museum Gurgltal and the interesting local museum, which is located at the outskirts of the village. Life in former times is lively shown in the little museum, “Heimatmuseum Tarrenz” in German, which is located in a farmhouse from 1734 AD.
In the well-preserved stables there is also a museum gallery. During summer, paintings, statuaries and other artworks of local artists are exhibited there. Ancient objects of daily use and home appliances from the 17th and 18th century are shown in the museum, which document the rural life in former times. In the winter months also Christmas cribs are exhibited. Due to the connection of old exhibits in the museum and artworks of young artists in the museum gallery a unique combination of old and new has been created.
