Like Lake Reintal, it can be found in a little side valley. In the south of the Krummsee, there is the Buchsee, in the west the Frauensee and above, in a rather hidden position, Lake Berglsteiner.
In summer, Lake Krummsee was a popular lake for bathing until some years ago, boasting a depth of approximately 2.5 metres. Now bathing is not permitted anymore. As the Krummsee is located at the foot of the Rofan Mountains, it is a popular rest place during a bike tour or during a hike, such as when you scale the 2,300 m high summits of the mountain group.
