Lake Reith, located in the heart of Reith im Alpbachtal, is one of the five lakes in the Alpbachtal valley.
Beside the lakes Krummsee, Reintaler, Berglsteiger and Zireiner, Lake Reith is one of the five lakes of the Alpbachtal valley. It is located in the centre of Reith im Alpbachtal, about half an hour's drive from Innsbruck. It is fed by ground water and a river, while the water runs off in an artificially established pipe.
In summer Lake Reith, also referred to as the "Blue eye of Reith", is a particularly popular holiday destination and popular lake for bathing. This is where you can enjoy swimming and sun-bathing, while in winter you can visit the adventure pool of Alpbach for swimming. Directly at the lake, there is a lido with vast lawn for sunbathing, a pool for kids and a paddling pool.
Moreover it is an ideal destination for a hike or a MTB tour. Also popular is the circular trail of 1 km round Lake Reith, starting at the parish house and taking round the lakeside, providing great impressions and views. Much longer, about 10 km, is the "Water Hiking Trail" (WasserWanderWeg), taking from Reith im Alpbachtal to Brixlegg. This theme trail starts in Reith and takes past several points that are connected to the topic water, ending in Brixlegg. Sayings along the trail make this walk a lasting holiday experience!
