Lake Stimmersee has been established between 1928 and 1934 in the municipality of Langkampfen at the foot of the Pendling mountain at 522 m asl. At the same time a little power utility for power production as well as a house at the lakeside have been established. Two little rivers feed the lake and the Rochenbach river, which flows into the Inn river, runs off Lake Stimmersee.
However, Lake Stimmersee is a perfect place to relax and to take a break from everyday life. While parents allow themselves to enjoy quiet and relaxation at one of the two lawns, their kids can play in and round the lake. Also the inhabitants of Kufstein and Langkampfen appreciate the lake as perfect place for taking a swim - it has become established that the eastern lakeside is called “Kufstein lakeside”, while the west lakeside is called “Langkampfner lakeside”.
The surroundings of Lake Stimmersee are a paradise for those who love hiking and mountaineering, as the lake represents a perfect starting point for tours to the Dreibrunnenjoch saddle, to Lake Thiersee or Mt Pendling. If you prefer more pleasant walks we recommend you to hike romantically round the lake. Another highlight for those who are interested in culture is the open-air stage Stimmersee, which every year offers the Volkstheater Kufstein the possibility to present one or more of its pieces at the lakeside.
