Tiefenbachklamm
Tiefenbachklamm

Tiefenbach Gorge

Beside the Emperor’s Gorge, the Tiefenbach Gorge is the second canyon in the surroundings of Brandenberg.

Brandenberg has not only one gorge, that is to say the Emperor's Gorge or Kaiserklamm in the district of Pinegg, but even a second one: the wild Tiefenbach Gorge is located between the villages of Brandenberg and Kramsach in the beautiful Alpbachtal Seenland area.

From the Tiefenbachklamm parking space you can experience the eponymous gorge by foot, walking along the Brandenberger Ache river, which originally was used for the transportation of tree trunks. Nowadays it represents a well known destination for kayakers. The ultimate highlight is the impressive panoramic platform at the highest point of the canyon, after approx. 1.5 km.

At the exit of the Tiefenbach Gorge (Tiefenbachklamm, in German), after a 1.5 hour-walk, there's the Tiefenbachklamm tavern (650 m a.s.l.) which offers a sun terrace as well as a children's playground. In order to get back to your starting point, you can take the same way through the gorge or continue to Brandenburg (about 30 minutes) where you can take the bus.
