Skiing and snowboarding is boring? Ice skating and snowshoeing aren’t great fun, too? You seek a slight rush of adrenaline? We know exactly what you are looking for! Why don’t you try snowkiting? Snowkiting is a new and exciting kind of winter sports and a great method to use the power of wind and the snow. Snow kiting is performed with a tube that acts as an airfoil, which creates lifts. Moreover it is quite easy to learn if you know skiing or snowboarding. However, we recommend you to take a snow kite lesson if you try this fun sport for the first time.
However, you prefer being on terra firma, but you seek a rush of adrenaline, anyway? Have you ever tried snowcarting? Sliding down the slope in a spectacular, but controlled manner, that’s what this sport is all about. A snow cart, the vehicle used to exert this new sport, is similar to a cart and as easy to drive. You don’t even have to know anything about skiing, a short instruction into the handling of a cart is sufficient in order to try snowcarting. By the way, it might be a relief to know that the cart is equipped with two footbrakes and one ice brake, in case you break out in a wrong direction. “Formula 1 on snow” - that’s real fun!
Or maybe you would like to try snowtubing? Snowtubing is a quite different way to ride down the slopes. Snowtubing can be compared to sledding, only the vehicle on which it is performed is different. Due to the low amount of friction between the tubes and snow, snowtubers can reach considerable speeds up to 40 km per hour. Of course there are also waves and jumps to overcome unscathed. Yes, it sounds venturesome, but it is performed on a special track which facilitates control. Moreover there are snowtubing tracks for children. Many winter sports centres throughout Tyrol offer the possibility to try snowtubing. You will love the thrill of these sports!
