The Sojer Nature Dairy in Steeg, supplied by local dairy farmers, provides interesting information about cheese production.

The municipality of Steeg is composed of several component localities, and the two hamlets Lechtleiten and Gehrn at the end of the Lech Gorge. In late Middle Ages, a footbridge (Steg, in German) was mentioned, which was name-giving for the village. From Steeg you can reach Warth in Vorarlberg via the Lech Gorge, and the Bregenz Forest via the Hochtannberg Pass.
From the first settlers here, the so-called Walser, the Walser German has been preserved, which is also still spoken in parts of Vorarlberg and of Switzerland. Steeg is the westernmost village of the Tiroler Lech Nature Park, standing for ideal terrain for mountaineering and MTB tours. A popular destination is the Bockbach Alp with the "Gamsvroni" Mountain Hut: The trail starts at Steeg and takes you past Lake Birchetsgumper to the above mentioned hut at 1,846 m a.s.l. Equally well-liked is the natural Kneipp facility at the waterfall along the Lech river.
Horse riding and a feel-good day in the Aqua Nova adventure pool offer variety for every age group. In winter, the ice skate ground opens in Steeg, furthermore there are the Pimig family toboggan run and four cross-country ski tracks of a total of 47.6 km, which are classified as easy.
