In the anterior part of the Hornbachtal valley, branching off from the Lechtal valley, there's Vorderhornbach. The village was already mentioned in 1218 AD, and represents today a calm holiday resort in the middle of flowering meadows. Above the village rises Mt. Grubachspitze.
Vorderhornbach is surrounded by the peaks of the Lechtal Alps and the Allgäu Alps, offering a wide range of possibilities regarding climbing routes and hiking trails. Popular tours take you on Mt. Hochvogel (2,592 m a.s.l.), the Höllhörner peaks, or - lower - the Petersberg Mountain Hut at 1,250 m a.s.l. Moreover it is part of the Tiroler Lech Nature Park with rare plant and animal species populating the shores of the wild Lech river. A 18 m high bird watching tower is part of the offer.
In the village you can also find the Nature Pool "Badino", which is made up of natural materials only. The 1,000 sqm large facility includes an outdoor pool, a large lawn for sunbathing, and family-friendly offers such as a playground and a liana. It is located along the Lech Cycle Route and therefore comfortably accessible. In winter, the pool transforms into an ice skating ground with an illuminated cross-country ski run nearby, the 1 km long Vorderhornbach-Feldrunde.
