Winter hiking path and sledge run Naviser Hütte

This easy and family-friendly natural toboggan run is perfect for a small winter excursion with a stop and a sledge ride.

The winter hike along the sledge run starts at the Schranzberg parking space (“Naviser Hütte) in the back Naviser Tal valley. We follow the levelled snow path, which corresponds to the forest road up to the Stöcklalm mountain hut. It takes about one hour through the snow-covered forest landscape to reach the Naviser Hütte mountain hut, covering an altitude difference of about 375 metres. The Naviser Hütte (closed on Monday) is open in winter for tobogganists and winter hikers. If you want to extend the excursion, you can walk up to the Stöckl Alm hut.

The snow on the road up to the hut is not levelled, but other hikers and tobogganists already left their marks, therefore it can be managed without major problems. The additional path to the Stöcklalm is almost 1 km long, 120 m of altitude difference and 20-30 minutes of time have to be planned. In return, you are rewarded with a great view on the surrounding wintry alpine world. But the best is yet to come, in fact the descent by sledge. In a short time we are back at our starting point at the parking space. This winter hike with sledge ride is also very popular among families with children. Although the route is considered to be easy, be always careful and considerate of the other hikers during the ascent and descent.
