Speck, cheese, schnaps and many more products can be tasted in Tyrol.
Holidays in Tyrol are not only a good deed for body and soul, but also for your palate, since there is much to taste. Of course food produced by mountain farmers, such as various types of cheese, are local delicacies. Bacon and ham of various types are also Tyrolean treats. Don’t forget to taste deer meat as well as sausages of local production, a real treat for your palate. Also schnaps and beer of local production, such as the Zillertal beer, are worth to be tasted. And schnaps tastings in nice company can be fun!
Of course there is much more to taste in Tyrol, e.g. Tyrolean “Kiachln” and “Krapfen” from the Zillertaler valley. However, many traditional restaurants in Tyrol offer typical and home-made Tyrolean specialities, which will melt in your mouth.
