Ahorn Eagle’s Stage

Europe’s highest bird of prey station in the Zillertal valley hosts flight demonstrations at an altitude of 2,000 metres

The Ahorn Cable Car, Austria's largest gondola, starts in Mayrhofen and travels up to the Ahorn mountain, home to the Ahorn Eagle's Stage. During the flight demonstrations, the kings of the air soar above the heads of the audience, showing off their elegant flying and hunting manoeuvres. The flight demonstrations take place from mid-June to October (weather permitting).

Eagles, eagle-owls, buzzards, falcons and other birds are cared for here by falconers. During the flight demonstrations, they will tell you interesting facts about the animals' way of life and abilities, helping you get to know these majestic birds better. Once a week, you can also take a look behind the scenes, but you must book in advance. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

The Ahorn Eagle's Stage, or AdlerBühne, also includes the Falconer's Oasis around the Filzen Reservoir. At seven different stations, you can learn interesting facts about the history of falconry, a falconer's equipment and local birds of prey. There are also plenty of quiet spots to relax. The oasis is part of MOUNTOPOLIS, the adventure world of the Mayrhofen Cable Cars.

The perfect complement is the new AlbertAdler Adventure Trail, which runs across the entire plateau to the Ahorn Eagle's Stage. Here, the mascot AlbertAdler tells you about his battle for Mayrhofen. This family-friendly adventure begins at the AdlerAuge viewing platform against the backdrop of the Zillertal Alps, leads you to the FalkenSteig with its 70-metre-long GreifenBridge, and brings you back to the starting point after about two hours.

In winter, the birds of prey are also housed at the Ahorn Eagle's Stage and can be visited during the daily "Meet & Greet". In this season, the AlbertAdler Adventure Trail which passes - as mentioned above - at the Ahorn Eagle's Stage, turns into a winter hiking trail.
