Fixed rope route Arlberg

The St. Anton fixed rope route is an alpine adventure for skilled alpinists and is one of the most challenging and beautiful tours in the Alps.

The Alberg fixed rope route is one of the most challenging Tours in the Alps and requires alpine experience as well as nerves of steel. Equipped with helmet and climbing equipment, alpine experts can approach the 3 km long and up to 2,500 m high Via Ferrata. Rugged ridges and shoulders of rocks as well as vertical rock faces… not at all for the faint-hearted!

However, the fixed-rope route takes you across the Knoppenjochspitze, Lisunspitze, Haizähne mountain and Weißschrofenspitze mountain. We consider you to schedule from four to six hours for this Via Ferrata, depending on the weather and condition. Some 500 hooks, 1050 rope clips and one steel rope make this experience secure. And if you do not want to face this Via Ferrata alone or with your friends, just ask one of the alpine guides of the place. However, the efforts are on the one hand compensated by a great panoramic view on the Verwallgruppe and Silvretta, on the other hand by the great feeling of having conquered this route!

By the way: the point where the fixed rope route starts is easily accessible from the funicular Vallugagrat or the mountain station of the Kapall chair lift. Usually the Via Ferrata of Arlberg is completed from west to east, which is also recommended.

Duration: 4 - 6 hours
Difficulty: D - very difficult
