In 2017, Kitzbühel will once again be the venue of the royal stage of the 69th Tour of Austria cycling race on the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain.

The climb up to the Kitzbüheler Horn is renowned for being one of the toughest challenges in international professional cycling due to the extreme incline of up to 22.3% throughout the lenght of 7.5 km, paired with the exposed sunny location.
