Race across the Alps

Covering 525 kilometres and ascending 14,500 vertical metres in approximately 24 hours: What sounds impossible, a select few professional cyclists achieve each year in the "Race across the Alps", the world's toughest one-day cycling race.

The long-distance specialists cycle through the three countries of Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. The route roughly corresponds to the Dreiländergiro, the Ötztaler Radmarathon, and the Dolomitenmarathon combined. The riders regularly push their physical and mental limits.
