Motorway permit sticker - Vignette

All Austrian motorways and clearways, including a total of about 2,000 km, are subject to road taxes

Motorway permit stickers, in Austria called "Vignette" or "Pickerl", are conspicuously affixed inside on the windscreen. The stickers are available for a period of ten days, two months or the whole year at most filling stations. In 2024, a "Vignette" for one day will be added.

The "Vignette" is secured by a two-dimensional hologram. Some years ago, the digital version has been introduced and is available now already at the beginning of November. The yearly sticker is valid from December 1 and changes its colour every year: In 2024 it will be sunny yellow.

One section of the otherwise complete toll road network in Tyrol is free of charge: It's the section A 12 "Inntal Autobahn" between the state border near Kufstein and the junction Kufstein-South.
