Solstice bonfires at Markbachjoch

From 6 pm on the longest day of the year, the Markbachjoch cable car in Niederau takes visitors up to the mountain station and the bonfire site. From here, you can look out over the Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps and, in clear conditions, even see as far as the Rofan mountains.

While the large bonfire is lit, solstice fires also begin to glow on the surrounding mountain slopes. Music and Tyrolean specialities are available at the Markbachjochalm, the Rübezahlhütte, and the Norderbergalm. The descent by cable car is possible until 11 pm. In the event of rain, an alternative date is scheduled.
