Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser Hotels Scheffau am Wilden KaiserDescription
The jagged peaks of the Wilder Kaiser are more than just a backdrop; they are the challenging terrain for this imperial trail running event. Six different routes start from Scheffau, welcoming everyone from newcomers and children to professional skyrunners.
The most exhilarating and technically demanding is the Kaiserkrone Skyrace Trail, which involves tackling fixed-rope sections and conquering summits. This competitive route covers 24.7 kilometres and 2,690 metres of elevation gain, leading to the Kaiser-Hochalm, Sonneck, and Scheffauer peaks. The Ultra Trail is slightly less technical but still a massive undertaking, covering 56 kilometres and 3,640 metres of elevation. The more compact Medium Trail is 20.7 kilometres long and leads to the Kaiser-Hochalm at 1,608 metres above sea level, involving 1,290 metres of climbing. Meanwhile, the Short Trail covers 8.3 kilometres with 490 metres of elevation gain, and the 30-kilometre Panorama Trail involves 1,500 metres of ascent.
Children can also burn off some energy on the Kaiserkrone Kids Trail, a valley-based course ranging from 500 to 1,500 metres depending on the age group.
