Tour of Austria
Info
Description
The Tour of Austria is arguably the most scenic sightseeing tour through Austria. And the toughest. The top riders complete the entire race in less than 16 hours.
The penultimate day of the Tour of Austria on 12th July has arrived, and it's time once again for a showdown among the Tour's best climbers! On this relatively short stage of 117.3 kilometres, starting at the Landhaus in Innsbruck, 3,500 metres of elevation gain are on the day's programme. This includes two HC-category mountain classifications: the 2,000-metre high Kühtai winter sports resort and Ötztal Sattele. In total, four mountain classifications – including Götzens and Kühtai Bergbahnen Dorfstadl – and two sprint classifications in Inzing/Freudenthaler and Telfs are on the schedule. From Innsbruck, the route is flat through the Inntal valley to Telfs, then back over Kühtai for the first time. This is followed by a rapid descent to Ötz with a loop, and then via Ötztal Sattele comes the final ascent to Kühtai. The finish is expected from 2:00 PM.
